What is the Bedford Judy Center?
 

- The Bedford Judy Center supports families with children from birth to age five through free programs, activities, resources, and family support designed to help children get ready for school.

What kinds of programs do you offer?
 

- We offer playgroups, field trips, family events, parent workshops, music and movement, nature activities, school-readiness programs, dad-focused activities, community baby showers, and more.

​

Can the Judy Center help my family with other needs?
 

- Yes. Our Family Service Case Manager can help families connect with resources related to child care, employment, education, housing, financial stability, clothing, diapers, household needs, and other community supports.

 

Who can register with the Bedford Judy Center?
 

- Families with children from birth to age five who live in the Bedford Elementary catchment area, as well as eligible families connected with Infants & Toddlers, may participate.

Does my child have to attend Bedford Elementary?
 

- Your child does not have to currently attend Bedford Elementary to be part of the Judy Center. Families are eligible if they live within the Bedford Elementary catchment area. If you live outside of the Bedford catchment area, your child must be participating in the Baltimore County Public Schools Infants & Toddlers Program to be eligible.

Can I still participate if my child is already in Pre-K or Kindergarten?

 

- Yes! Families can still stay involved with the Judy Center while their child is in Pre-K or Kindergarten. Some of our programs happen during the school day, and we encourage families to keep children in school rather than miss class to attend Judy Center activities.

​

To make it easier for school-age children to participate, we also plan after-school events, family activities, and some field trips on professional development days. That way, families can stay connected without having to choose between school and Judy Center programs.

Do I have to register with the Judy Center before attending events?

 

-Yes. Families must be registered with the Bedford Judy Center before participating in our programs and events. Registration helps us confirm eligibility, keep your family connected to important updates, and make sure we have the information we need to best support you.

Do I need to register for every event?
 

- Yes. We ask families to register in advance for each event so we can make sure we have the right amount of supplies, food, materials, and space for everyone attending.

Does it cost anything to participate?
 

- No! All Judy Center programs, events, workshops, playgroups, field trips, and family support services are free for families.

​

Can I bring my older children with me?

 

- It depends on the event. Some activities are designed for specific age groups, while others are for the whole family. Check the event information or contact us if you’re unsure.

Are meals or snacks provided?
 

- Food is provided at many of our events, but not all. Event information will let families know when meals or refreshments are included.

 

Does the Judy Center provide transportation?
 

- Free transportation may be available for certain field trips or special events. Details will always be shared with families ahead of time.

- Registered families receive email updates, and we also share upcoming programs and registration information on our website, Instagram, and Facebook.
