Your Child's Future Starts Here

History of Judy Center

In the 1990s, Judith P. Hoyer was an early education coordinator for Prince George's County Public Schools. She strived to make services available for low socioeconomic families. She developed a location in Adelphi, Maryland for early childhood services along with collaboration with government and private agencies to provide the needs of local families.

After she passed in 1997, Her husband, Congressman Steny Hoyer worked to expand her partnership to other areas of Maryland. In the end, the Maryland State Legislature established the Judith P. Hoyer Early Child Care and Education Enhancement Program in May 2000.

The mission of Bedford Judy Center is to provide children and families with the tools and resources they need to succeed. Our family services ensure that basic needs like food, clothing, and shelter are met, so children can thrive. We understand the importance of early childhood education, health, and development, and provide a range of services in these areas. Our team is always available to offer support and guidance to families in need. We believe every child deserves a bright future, and we're here to help make that a reality.
